Your QC35, in the menu bar.

Lull shows the battery level of your Bose QuietComfort 35 II and switches noise cancelling between Off, Low and High, right from your Mac. No phone needed.

Lull isn't out yet. Email us and we'll write once, on launch day.

The Lull popover: QuietComfort 35 II connected, battery at 90 percent, noise cancelling set to High.

The everyday controls, on your Mac.

Bose Connect runs on iPhone and Android only. Lull covers the everyday controls from the menu bar.

Battery at a glance

A live ring and percentage in the menu bar. It turns orange at 30% and red at 15%, and you get a notification at 15% and again at 5%.

Noise cancelling in one click

Switch between Off, Low and High. The control waits for the headphones to confirm, and puts itself back if they don't.

Connects on its own

Lull connects when you log in, when your Mac wakes, when Bluetooth comes back and when you switch the headphones on.

Follows your audio

Start playing something on your Mac and Lull brings the headphones over and makes them the output. You can turn this off.

Send to another device

Pick your iPhone or another computer the headphones remember, and Lull hands them over in one click.

Small and native

Built for macOS 14 and later, on Apple silicon and Intel. No account, no network connections, no background helpers.

Which headphones

Lull speaks the QC35's own control protocol over Bluetooth, so it works with the headphones it has been built for.

Questions

Is Lull made by Bose?

No. Lull is an independent app from Basalt. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bose. It talks to the headphones over the same Bluetooth connection your Mac already uses.

Which headphones does it work with?

Lull is tested on the Bose QuietComfort 35 II. The original QuietComfort 35 uses the same control protocol but hasn't been tested yet. Newer Bose models such as the QC45, the Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 and the QC Ultra are not supported.

Do I need the Bose app or an account?

No. Pair the headphones once in System Settings, Bluetooth, and Lull finds them. There is no account and no phone app involved.

Does Lull collect any data?

No. Lull makes no network connections. Your settings stay in the app's preferences on your Mac.

Why is there no Wind mode?

The QC35 II offers High, Low and Off. Bose recommends Low for windy places, so Lull shows those three.

Why does macOS ask for Accessibility access?

Only when you use Send To. Lull presses the play/pause media key to pause your Mac's audio before handing the headphones to another device, and macOS asks once before an app can do that.

Why does Lull lose the headphones while they charge?

The QC35 II switches Bluetooth off while it charges, so no app can read it then. Lull reconnects when you unplug and power them on.

What does it cost?

Lull isn't out yet. It will be $2.99 at launch, a one-time purchase with no subscription, and $4.99 after the launch period.
